Help: BOGO50 coupon

I’m trying to figure out how to set this up. I’ve got a category wherein anything in there is BOGO50. Buy any product in the category, get any product in the category 50% off (with the lowest of the two being discounted, naturally).

Any ideas? Buy X Get Y seems to only apply to identical products, which is definitely not what I need.

[For Hire] Senior Magento Devs

Hey Folks. Is anyone looking for Senior and Architect level Magento developers for contract hire without recruiters? My friends, a few talented colleagues working from the EU region, are available for full-time work. If you are interested in more details please DM me. Awesome rates. They are all remote, full-stack engineers.

No, I’m not an agency so there is no extra fee apart from the developer rate here, I’m just hoping to help these awesome people land on their feet as quickly as possible.

Magento for developer

If you are developer please don’t relative with Magento event a little because is so trash and your coding skill will not improve anything.

Magento using old technologies like KOJS, LESS, REQUIREJS,… and EAV Model, XML, all is trash

Totally, Magento is trash for developer, I feel like it just make everything complicated unnecessary specially in front-end. You shoud learn mordern technologies like React, Angular, Laravel,…

Helping a friend with his small business – is Magento overkill coming from WordPress?

Title –
Basically GoDaddy overstepped their bounds on an upscale call and my buddy who owns a small storefront wants to move. He’s currently on a very basic WordPress page, orders are done via email, not a lot of pomp and circumstance.
He may have been drinking too much of his own product (coffee roaster) but he want’s to do a more modern page with a cart, subscription services, etc…
I’m trying to determine if I should direct him to someone who knows WordPress and leverage their plug-in ecosystem or if magenta is worth a shot. They’re a relatively small operation but their focus is B2B sales and they’ll take B2C sales if it hits them in the face so I’m liking the idea of the integrated customer DB from that aspect.
Would likely just tell him to host on AWS using marketplace AMI for the setup but hoping someone here could lend some guidance on how to direct him to someone knowledgable on the admin/setup side of things.

Faster Grids with ElasticSearch?

The grids in M2 are slow when you get > 1 million orders. I’ve speeded up individual columns with plugins, adding fulltext indexes, etc. but this is a bit whack a mole. I’m curious if someone’s tried to use ElasticSearch for Customer/Sales Orders grids.

I have a basic understanding how ElasticSearch works and how it works with Magento in 2.4+ – I know we feed it a product index namespaced to something like magento2_product_{storeid}. I fought a battle to try to get it to index stock status.

And I know it’s fast. I know we could probably feed it other things to search. I don’t know if we could secure those things to use Magento ACL. Worthwhile?

Blog home & category pages are blank/no content using WordPress (fishpig)

Hello, Having issues with a site I just took over management for. There is work to be done for sure, but first issue is the blog/wordpress. It’s using the following: Magento 2.3.3 WordPress Integration 2.0.11.18

The main blog page (/blog) and category pages are blank, but you can still view regular blog posts.

I just updated everything in WordPress with no change and cleared all cache’s in Magento.

I know the site needs an update, but trying to get the blog up first, then update Magento etc. I was tempted to install the new version of Fishpig but it is a pretty big jump.

Any help/tips would be appreciated.

Thanks,.

Magento 2.4.4 – Categories empty after changing base_url

Weird issue. I have a branch which needed it’s base_url changed. I did that and changed the cookie_url as well. Since doing that, the category pages are returning an error:

“We can’t find products matching the selection. “

The products still exist and I can go to them directly. I have re-indexed it and that seems to run fine. I’ve check the elasticsearch service and that seems fine.

Am I missing something I should try? I think it’s tied to the base_url change.

Edit: definitely something to do with elasticsearch (which appears to be running)

report.CRITICAL: ElasticsearchCommonExceptionsServerErrorResponseException: Unknown 503 error from Elasticsearch null in /app/vendor/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/src/Elasticsearch/Connections/Connection.php:726
