Get start with Magento architecture, startup configuration and design patterns

Hi Magento devs, I have been using Magento2 for less than a year but doing a lot of customisation and adding new APIs. I still face challenges when need to override some internal functionality as it requires internal application change. I feel like I don’t know best practice to solve or make those changes. Please help me in understanding those things. Thanks in advance.
