RMA Return Settings

Hello

Recently taken over a Magento 2 website I’m still learning my way around.

We have a customer service user group which I need to give access to the RMA Returns menu shown in this image from my admin account. It shows in the RMA menu under the header Return and I can see RMA, RMA status, Return Reasons, Item Conditions etc etc.

I have enabled every role I can find with any reference to RMA and I still can not get it to show for this particular user group.

Any ideas oh which roles need to be abled for this to work?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Main reasons for using Magento over Shopify

Hi Magento experts,

I am not a Magento user myself, but discussed how it compares with Shopify with a friend – aside from going feature by feature, what are some of the highlights you would point out with Magento vs. Shopify?

Below were a few of my bullets:

  • Magento is an open-source platform, which means that it is free to download and use, and you have complete control over the source code. This makes it a good option for businesses that need a high level of customization for their e-commerce platform.
  • Magento is a very scalable platform. It can easily handle large volumes of traffic and transactions, making it a good choice for businesses that expect to support a more extensive setup.
  • Magento has a large and active community of developers who create custom extensions and plugins that can add new features and functionality to your online store.

What else would you add?

Magento 2.4.4 – Some orders are stuck on the ‘Pending’ status and not changing to ‘Processing

For my Magento 2.4.4 page, normally when payment is collected from Stripe, order status will move automatically from ‘Pending’ to ‘Processing’. For most orders, this works perfectly. However, there are a few orders (1 in 15 orders) that the status will be stuck in ‘Pending’, and not change to ‘Processing’ despite the status log showing that it is ‘Processing’, plus Stripe confirming that the payment is Successful.

This is an issue for my page as the status showing as ‘Processing’ is needed for things such as 3PL integration (order shipment created on 3PL platform), reward points credited to customer account, Gift Card code (if a gift card was purchased) creation and sent to customer, etc.

Has anyone come across a similar situation, or know how to fix this issue?

anyone issues with marketplace?

Hey Guys,

I’m new here, I created this profile on my work email because I’m stuck.

I’ve got an issue with marketplace.magento. Ever since they updated the login to require an AdobeID I’ve been unable to log in. I’ve created the proper AdobeID, but there’s an issue with weird redirects on the oauth. It looks like marketplace can’t get my profile info or something.

I’ve created tickets with them, but I don’t think the support staff dealing with the tickets is technical enough to help me out any further.

As far as I can see it’s an oauth issue where it actually get the ID but then can’t process it in the marketplace.

I can log into Adobe and see my id there, I can allso log into commerce.magento, but when I click through to marketplace I can’t get to my profile.

Anyone else experience something similar? I’m stuck at half an update because I can’t update subscriptions for extensions or purchase new ones with my existing profile (this is an issue because there’s about 10 extensions bought through marketplace I would like to keep support for)

If anyone has any suggestions I’d be very grateful.

Cheers,

Rick

Composer install

I am trying to upgrade from 2.4.2 to 2.4.3 (and hopefully on to 2.4.4 then) thanks to useful information on my other question. Eventually got it to run composer update and it did a lot of updating and removing etc but then came to a halt with :

Fatal error: Interface 'InteropContainerContainerInterface' not found in /home/website/public_html/vendor/laminas/laminas-servicemanager/src/ServiceLocatorInterface.php on line 16

I’ve done a lot of googling and all I can come up with is people saying to remove vendor folder and run Composer install. Does this sound like a viable move? Do I literally just delete the whole vendor folder like rm -r vendor/* and then run composer install? thanks

Is there something like a “trusted” mode with Magento if you want to use Magento headless and handle authentication before Magento’s API?

Long time Magento developer here, but it’s been years since I’ve actually done an implementation or any customizations.

“Back in the day”, if you wanted to add a product to a specific customers cart, you’d first have to “login” as the customer and generate a token to actually sign each request to the Magento API.

I’ve since implemented other “enterprise” commerce systems, some of which expect that you’ll have other systems / API Gateway / etc where you’ll want to terminate authentication. Basically each request to the commerce system comes in with headers that tell the commerce system which customer you are acting on behalf of. The actual commerce API is not exposed anywhere publicly, so it’s safe to trust the headers that come in.

I’m wondering if Magento has a similar feature, or if there are plugins or similar that allow for this – basically, don’t make me authenticate with Magento as a customer, let me just tell Magento that I am X customer.

–interactive-root-conflicts option does not exist

Upgrading from 2.4.2 to 2.4.3 and getting this error when I try to run

composer require magento/product-community-edition 2.4.3 --no-update --interactive-root-conflicts

The options given are:

require [--dev] [--dry-run] [--prefer-source] [--prefer-dist] [--prefer-install PREFER-INSTALL] [--fixed] [--no-suggest] [--no-progress] [--no-update] [--no-install] [--update-no-dev] [-w|--update-with-dependencies] [-W|--update-with-all-dependencies] [--with-dependencies] [--with-all-dependencies] [--ignore-platform-req IGNORE-PLATFORM-REQ] [--ignore-platform-reqs] [--prefer-stable] [--prefer-lowest] [--sort-packages] [-o|--optimize-autoloader] [-a|--classmap-authoritative] [--apcu-autoloader] [--apcu-autoloader-prefix APCU-AUTOLOADER-PREFIX] [--] [<packages>]...

Would any of these do something similar? I also tried interactive-magento-conflicts which I found elsewhere.

Magento with Varnish cache : when is a varnish cache flushed ?

Hello ! I’m currently trying to understand how the varnish flushing is done from Magento.

As I don’t have a lot of insights on the varnish side, I would like to know when the varnish cache flush is done. I’m absolutely not sure that this is correct, but I feel that the varnish cache is flushed everytime a user is logging on the magento backend.. would it be possible ? Does anybody have a list of the operations that can lead to this flush?

Thanks for now 🙂

Magento hosting recommendation given requirements

I’m looking to host a Magento multi-site solution in Europe.

u/shivbhadra has got an excellent recommendation here but the thread is about two years old so things might have changed.

The dimensioning is described below on a very high level scale.

There will be around 20 – 30 cloned e-shops sharing the same Magento installation and they will have max 20-30 products each.

I anticipate that at most, I will have 200 active users during the busiest hour of the year, and an total of 10 concurent system users at the busiest hour of the day give or take.

I am looking for something cheap for the beginning, (sub 500euros per year) with decent performance, but if the business does well, I am looking at upgrading to a better tier or a completely different solution.

Do you guys have something to suggest?

Product Page Banner

Hi,

When there’s an ongoing campaign, I add a banner inside each campaign product page to drive traffic to all of our deals. It’s really frustrating however since I’m putting each html img code with href etc. in each product and removing it after each campaign.

Does anyone know of any solutions that would make this task more effecient and easier? Really appreciate any suggestions! Thanks 🙂

2.4.2p1 to 2.4.5 – upgrade process practicalities?

We have a Magento 2.4.2p1 site that needs upgrading to 2.4.4 at least, probably 2.4.5. I understand this is a big upgrade involving PHP upgrades and more. I’ve seen posts here that talk about at least 50 hours work, if not 150. We’re a small agency and there is currently only one of me with any experience with Magento. So I’m trying to do a bit of research so I know what’s involved.

Currently we have the live site and a test backup site. I was planning on doing the upgrade on the test site to start with to see how it goes. Then when I have worked out the gotchas, do it on live. However I can’t really afford to spend at least 50 hours, twice! on this. The client also can’t afford to have their site shut down for a week or more. But I’m assuming we can’t just do updates on the test site and then point to live database as I’m sure there will be changes to the database as well? There are a fair few extensions that would need to be upgraded too I’m assuming – some not too vital but some are important in terms of integration with a warehouse etc so can’t be not working on a production site for too long

So how do people usually actually do this – what would be your process for a big upgrade?

Thanks 🙂
