Issue with Special Price Dates

Client is having issues with some sale prices not appearing on the front end. On investigation it seems like the issue is with the dates. If there are any dates in the website scope, these override anything set up on the top level (global/base) scope.

They do a Firebear ImportExport import every night and the scope of everything is set to “base”. So if the dates are in the global/base scope from an import, then anything in a more specific scope is going to overwrite them. So the website scopes need to have valid dates or blank dates. I am not sure where the dates in the website scopes have come from, maybe someone put them in manually?

The prices themselves are set at a global scope so when you change scope on the page they don’t change, but the dates have both options. Is there any way around this?

To tell the truth I am not sure what I am looking for. Maybe how to delete all the website scope dates so they don’t override the global ones coming in?

Adobe Commerce market place extension ratings are a farce.

Honestly why even have them? The highest ranked extension has a whopping 4 reviews total! It’s their own payment services extension and they only have 4 reviews of it. WTF.

Almost all extensions bar a few large 3rd parties have 1 or less reviews. Do they just delete them every week?

Then the filters for reviews are 1 star and up. 2 star and up. Etc

Do they not see the stupidity of “1 start an up” as a filter 🤦. Yes I know I can scroll back up the applied filters and then remove the 3-5 stars, but come on!

Do better Adobe, you’re not even trying.

L2 frontend cache with local Redis

Our AWS partners are recommending that we switch to using

MagentoFrameworkCacheBackendRemoteSynchronizedCache – see https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/commerce-operations/configuration-guide/cache/level-two-cache.html

as a local cache store instead of Cm_Cache_Backend_Redis because when the site is aggressively spidered it’s going over the network bandwidth limits for our Redis instance.

I think I understand how it works and how it would help but our managing hosting company believe it would be a bad idea – see https://github.com/magento/magento2/issues/37421#issuecomment-1717149657

I can definitely understand how reading multiple local files would be slower than a memory store, albeit a remote memory store.

I’m leaning towards just scaling the Redis instance. Has anyone managed to see positive improvements like this?

Job interview coming… best way to learn Magento asap? Favorite tutorials, resources, etc.

I have a job interview on the way with a company that uses Magento. I have lots of experience with various web CMS platforms and learn this type of thing quickly. I’m not trying to be deceptive and act like I’m an expert, but want to come into this call with some familiarity and knowledge. What are my best options for learning as much as I can in the next couple days?

And just to clarify – this job is a content job – *not* on the development side. I’ll need to be responsible for updating content and media within Magento, but not responsible for building or setting up any of the site of functionality.

Thank you!!

Magento 2.4 — Bundles + Tier Pricing

Hey all,

I have a bunch of bundle products which contain simple products. Now tier pricing with simple products display information properly on the frontend.

For example, Special Price is 19.99/each, Tier 2 = 17.99/each, Tier 3= 14.99/each

But with bundles, instead of displaying the price, it shows it as a percentage discount instead.

For example, Special Price is 19.99/each, Tier 2 = 10% Discount, Tier 3 = 25%

Is this display issue something that needs to fixed via some dev work or can this be configured differently to show the proper fixed tier pricing?

Advanced Magento Analytics – Is there a demand for something like this?

As a Magento merchant – what do you mostly miss within it’s dashboard?
Do you believe there’s a demand for advanced Ecommerce Analytics tool for Magento?
If yes, what analytics do you believe would make the most sense?
I’m doing market research for a potential SaaS I’d like to develop, so any feedback is highly appreciated!

What is the correct way to learn Magento?

I want to learn to use Magento, not for developing modules, only for building a simple ecommerce site.

Magento seems to be very complicated, always will encounter various errors.

Also, always need to use Composer.

But I don’t want complicated functionality.

What is the correct way to learn Magento? I only want to build a simple ecommerce site and can speed up its site speed.

Thanks!

Has anyone worked with Argento Theme?

I have this love hate relationship with Argento theme and wondering what everyone else thinks about this theme. I’m not paying for the theme again because of the first two times I paid for it I never got the support I needed to fix the issues. I’m now having issues and support won’t assist unless I purchase the theme again and pay the $25 monthly for support, which is freaking ridiculous. Anyways I’m wondering if anyone else is using this theme, they say they have over 9,500 sites running it which I don’t believe.
